Six projects out of seven up and running... Presenting the tangible results of thecamp’s first collaborative residency.
Beeyond
This intelligent bee-drone, which analyzes air quality, will soon have a little sibling: a second prototype created in partnership with a local manufacturer of air quality sensors. The new addition will be presented at thecamp in September at the “Air Quality Makers’ Night”, which will bring together professionals from the sector. The aim is to start the marketing phase before the end of the year.
Tale
The two Hivers who came up with this application, which gathers together tales from oral traditions around the world, have been invited to join the Village by CAAP, thecamp’s incubator, this fall. Negotiations are also underway with a major French publisher.
Capsule
This interactive olfactory installation, which fosters encounters between strangers, was exhibited in Montreal in May as part of C2, the flagship digital art event. Capsule has also been exhibited in Paris.
Interlude
The interactive artistic installation Interlude, which provides city dwellers with a comprehensive immersive experience to help them wind down and re-connect with themselves was exhibited for 15 days at the town hall of Paris’ 10th arrondissement. Interlude has just landed back at thecamp, where it will be exhibited over the next few weeks. Discussions are underway with SNCF French Railways’ Gares & Connexions division, which is dedicated to its users’ in-station experience, for Interlude to be set up temporarily at the Aix-en-Provence TGV station.
raWMaterial
The new raw material, designed by raWMaterial and made of recycled oyster shells, created quite a buzz at the C2 in Montreal. Trials are ongoing to assess its robustness for use in the manufacture of outside furniture.
Wearkit
Wearkit, which developed an interactive theater costume able to translate emotions, is moving ahead with the aim of opening a design studio and developing sensors for performances.
