Take a trip down memory lane — in a driverless car

Did you know that in the 1990s, a driverless car was being already tested out in the streets of Paris?

Our guest on the podcast, Michel Parent, was there. He’s a world-renowned expert in transportation technologies and robotics, who has had an extensive career at INRIA (the French national research institute for digital sciences), MIT in the United States, and more.

Michel is the President of AutoKAB, a startup that participated in the first season of Climb, the acceleration program by Le Village by CA Alpes Provence at thecamp. He and the AutoKAB team are still working with thecamp on the Demoiselle autonomous shuttle project.

During his interview, Michel talks about the Praxitèle projet. Need to see it to believe it? Check out archival footage from INRIA here, and an English-language news report from the time here. The AutoKAB website also has a handy timeline.
