Project details

Ventur is a visual recognition airspace monitoring system conceived and designed by The Edge Company, whose team includes former fighter pilots. It was produced with help of researchers in deep learning at the University of Verona.

Initially dubbed Bird Concentration Monitoring System, before being patented under the name Ventur, after the Mont Ventoux, the system uses computer vision to detect, classify and count birds (and drones) and to calculate their paths and positions in 3D. The system is aimed at securing air spaces, agricultural areas, wind farms and protected zones.

The Edge Company has also developed Maestro, an augmented reality system with applications in sectors as varied as research, culture and the arts, industry and aviation, providing a visual support as if the user had a guide or instructor.
