For Pavel and Sergei, two Ukrainian entrepreneurs, there were three things that needed changing in the process for manufacturing chips, a food known for its unhealthy properties: the raw material, the transformation process and the presence of additives. They started by replacing potatoes, a raw product poor in nutrients, with flax seeds, rich in fiber, protein and essential amino acids. They then replaced the frying oil, a source of bad fats, with drying, to preserve nutrients with no adverse effects. Lastly, they completely removed all food additives and preservatives in favor of natural spices.
Futurefood produces and markets its flax seed chips, supplying large retail stores.
