Since the thecamp project began in 2013, our goal has been to bring people together from all walks of life to invent solutions to make the world more sustainable, fairer, more resilient and more human. Starting from this idea, thecamp has become a powerful tool for transforming people and organizations across three dimensions.
Nestling among greenery on the edge of Aix-en-Provence, thecamp’s exceptional architecture was designed to provide all the infrastructure needed for working, exchanging, experimenting and living, in a setting conducive to innovation.
Every day, creative people – designers; entrepreneurs; students; international researchers & experts; directors of microbusinesses, SMEs and major corporations; professionals from the private and public sectors; associations – work, share and create together.
Adopting proven methods from different fields, our teams are committed to sharing new ways of approaching often complex subjects and supporting people and organizations through smooth transformations tailored to their priorities.
Surrounded by greenery on the edge of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, the site’s organic, futuristic architecture by Corinne Vezzoni references nomadic camps, enthused by their versatility and their symbiosis with the environment.
The space is inspired by American campuses, but also by accelerators and fablabs. A futuristic hub in the heart of an exceptional natural environment, this is a place where people can live for a few days or a few months, experiencing new ways of eating, working and prototyping, taking part in events or creating new connections through the many activities.
thecamp was initiated in 2013 by Frédéric Chevalier.
“This place will be a laboratory, an ecosystem for creation and innovation. People will come here to work, learn, exchange ideas, play, create and philosophize. And guide the changes that will invent solutions to make the world more sustainable, fairer, more resilient and more human.”
